Hello everyone! The Printmaking Department has brought visiting Artist, Michael Barnes. Barnes is a Printmaker from Nothern Illinois University. He has generously given his time to meet with Syracuse University print classes on February 24th, 25th, 26th. On February 24th, tonight, at 6:30 pm Barnes will be giving an artist talk in the Comart room 044. Everyone is welcome to the artist talk! If you are interested in watching the process of Barnes printing an edition please stop by the Print Shop during these dates.

Hello Gal Members!
In Spring 2008 I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. The printmaking professor, Gary Lissa, taught me a new dry point/ plexi glass technique, which is easy, fun, and explores the versatility of printmaking. Professor Lissa also introduced a new way to achieve texture by putting pumice with carborundum (litho grain) on plexi glass. Both techiniques are easy to do at home! Just bring some good quality printmaking (etching) paper, so you can take home some cool prints! Hope to see all Gal Members there! Thanks

A photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a photo-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. If you plan on coming, please bring your own paper with stencils made from it, magazine cut outs, even objects. We will provide you with the chemicals and the photo paper.Thanks and hope to see you there! Please note this will not be at the comart building and is on main campus at Schaffer.
